These wines are an expression of our work in the vineyard and in the cellar. Our range includes eight wines, so everyone can find something to delight in. The wines range from everyday table wines to prestigious wines reserved for special occasions.

EVOLUTION
PLOVAC PLOSKI 1996

The original label was designed by the well-known Croatian painter Edo Murtic.

Murtic’s original designed was subsequently modified by the well-know Zagreb-based designer Nenad Dogan.

Nowadays, Plovac Ploski is sold in two distinct versions:

PLOVAC PLOSKI
Blue label

PLOVAC PLOSKI barrique
Brown label

The two are now joined by the
new generation of Plovac Ploski,
our own version of a Novello-like wine:

- MLADO VINO -

You can read up on our wines in “Vina Hrvatske/Croatia’s Wines” by Ante Krstulovic
(published by Profil).

DUSAN JELIC VISITING OUR WINERY
Dusan’s Interview with Ivo

THE ROLE OF SULPHUR IN WINE PRODUCTION
Sulphur is just as indispensable in the cellar as it is in the vineyard. A powerful antioxidant, it protects wine from spoilage and helps steer the entire process in the right direction, as we also use it for yeast selection. As a matter of fact, SO2 is the compound most commonly used during work in the cellar. The use of sulphur-based compounds is clearly indicated on our labels: “contains sulphites”.

FROM MUST TO WINE?
For must to become wine, alcoholic fermentation needs to occur. The grapes contain sugars which a chemical reaction transforms into alcohol. Other compounds are produced as well during this process. The chemical reaction itself would not be possible without yeasts – the live spark that triggers the process.
